Practicing in the New York area for 26 years, Valerie Marvin has represented buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties in the greater New York area and the east end towns of Southampton, East Hampton, Shelter Island, Southold and Riverhead. Beginning her career in the real estate department of a medium sized Park Avenue law firm in New York, serving as a Village Attorney to the Village of Greenport and continuing to practice real estate law throughout her career, Valerie has a far-reaching network of information and support as well as considerable experience in the negotiation and technical issues involved in real estate acquisition, sale, ownership matters and land use issues. To offer clients a full range of services, Valerie often partners with and coordinates the activities of other professionals, including environmental consultants, engineers, architects, surveyors and others. Working as legal counsel, advisor and team leader, Valerie ensures that all of her clients’ needs and interests are met.

Land Use & Zoning

A former Village Attorney, Valerie Marvin has represented clients before municipal boards in all of Long Island’s east end towns of East Hampton, Southampton, Shelter Island, Southold and Riverhead, handling land use issues, variances, special permits, zone changes, subdivisions, and more. As Greenport Village Attorney she advised the Board of Trustees, Planning Board and Board of Zoning Appeals, gaining intimate knowledge and expertise, not only of issues involved in representing clients before such boards, but the concerns and considerations of the boards themselves, helping her to understand and communicate effectively with all parties involved in decision-making.
